Title: Preschool Itinerant Intervention Specialist

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent

FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications: Valid Ohio Early Childhood Intervention Specialist License

Valid Driver's License

Access to motor vehicle

Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the day

Effective communication skills

Bachelor's Degree

Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted

Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted

Pass criminal background check

General Duties:

* Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and child development.
* Under general direction, provide instruction to assigned student(s), in the setting where the student is located, in all domains of school readiness, to support exposure to general education curriculum.
* Provide Specially Designed Instruction for assigned student(s), as described in the IEP and determined appropriate by the team.
* Assist with the personal needs of students to support student participation in their daily activities which could include: restroom/diapering, transfers, mobility lifting, medication administration as trained by licensed health care professional, etc
* Perform supplemental duties, as requested by district, which may include supporting student arrival/dismissal, supporting other classrooms, participation in community engagement activities, maintaining a clean and organized learning environment for students.
* Prepare instructional lesson plans for each lesson, that incorporate age-appropriate activities, assessments and resources, including technology, that align with student needs, district priorities, Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards.
* Maintain constant supervision of students.
* Support student behavior using district/program specific discipline codes.
* Maintain positive control of the students' learning environment to effectively maximize instructional time with students.
* Support the district/program MTSS system and support classroom happenings, as requested.
* Maintain positive rapport with students while empowering and enabling students to reach their full potential.
* Collect and use high-quality student data to monitor student performance and report progress as is described in the student's IEP, following district policy.
* For assigned student(s), support data collection process for required assessments including Early Learning Assessment, Child Outcome Summary, and others as requested by district.
* At the end of the academic year, ensure timely submission of student documentation, including progress monitoring, data collection forms, and other special education documents, to the district representative. Maintain data accessibility for WCESC/district administration throughout the school year.
* Ensure that records are accurate, comprehensive, and in compliance with legal mandates, policies and administrative regulations.
* Actively participate in student-specific meetings, including Evaluation Team Report (ETR), Individual Education Program (IEP), parent-teacher conference meetings and others.
* Communicate and engage with families to foster partnership that contributes to student learning, well-being and development. Document contact using district approved method.
* Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students and maintain equipment, materials and facilities (carpet, walls, heating controls, etc.).
* Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting to changes in schedules and plans as necessary.
* Maintain positive working relationships with all school staff members.
* Ensure clear communication through both verbal and written means with all members of the school community.
* Exemplify professional standards by modeling appropriate and professional appearance, attire, language and behavior as an educator.
* Perform all responsibilities in accordance with the adopted Board Policy.
* Other Duties and Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. In the event of absence, promptly notify the building principal/director or their designated representative as soon as possible.
* Maintain required certificate(s) and/or license(s).
* Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by district/WCESC and self-selected professional growth activities.
* Complete appropriate forms as necessary, such as leave requests, reimbursement forms, caseload update lists, etc.
* Adhere to district/WCESC protocols when requesting supplies, curriculum/textbooks, and equipment.
* Attend scheduled meetings organized by administration that may not be specific to individual students.
* Successfully fulfill additional job duties as assigned by principal/director.
* Each teacher is accountable for maintaining their personal books, materials and equipment.
* Set an example for both educators and students on how to conduct themselves as citizens and responsible individuals.
* Assist in fostering among students and staff a commitment to ethical principles and democratic values through instruction and example.
* Throughout employment with WCESC/district, employee is expected to abstain from alcohol and/or nonprescribed controlled substance use in the workplace.

The employee is required to adhere to Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations established by the Warren County ESC and school districts, as well as comply with relevant State, Federal, and OSHA laws pertaining to workplace safety. Evaluation of the employee's compliance with these rules and regulations to ensure safety in the workplace will be considered during the evaluation process.
