Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (CHEMICALS) in the Fuels Department, Patuxent River Divsion of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF. Duties * You will investigate the quality control procedures to ensure the continued quality of fuel products. * You will assist and advise the Aircraft Fuel Delivery Branch in the establishment of quality control plans and procedures that are to be employed in fulfilling fuel quality requirements. * You will maintain surveillance over the quality assurance program for petroleum products from the time of receipt of the petroleum product to the time the product is issued. * You will perform daily inventory procedures in order to evaluate and compare inventory control figures with issuing and receiving totals. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. * This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. * This is a bargaining unit position. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the duties of a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (CHEMICALS) applying a knowledge of petroleum products, aircraft refueling operations, quality assurance plans and procedures, hazardous materials regulations, environmental regulations and laws, and fuel related references in order to perform the following: 1.) Assisting in the investigation of the adequacy of aircraft refueling equipment and competency of assigned personnel; 2.) Assisting and advising in the development of quality control plans and procedures; 3.) Inspecting aircraft refueling equipment; 4.) Assisting in maintaining a quality assurance program for aircraft refueling; and 5.) Performing inventory of petroleum products used to support aircraft operations. OR Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
