Senior System Administrator JHNA is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior System Administrator with demonstrated experience performing system administration functions on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks. This position will require on-site presence at NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD. Roles/Responsibilities * Work to help maintain and upgrade network infrastructures across the NAVAIR * Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users * Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination * Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems * Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption. * Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. * Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems * Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities * Plan for authorized service interruptions and outages * Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages * Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution * Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning * Test operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes Job Requirements * Candidate must possess an Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required. * Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline.-Will accept additional years of experience in lieu of education requirement. * At least 5 years of experience in system administration, performing the functional duties for this position. * Deployment/configuration/support for: VMWare/vSphere Enterprise, Cisco switches, SAN, Windows server * Experience with: Networking, Linux . * Knowledge of networking/ IT principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development, of new and innovative principles and concepts.
