Our client is seeking an Engineer with solid experience with Red Hat OpenShift to join their team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be hybrid, located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of the Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative will modernize over 90 legacy systems over the period of 10 years and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA’s customers. The journey to the cloud is a key consideration for modernization of the Consular Affair’s applications. Based on the current set of applications, the program is using Salesforce for all the Case Management needs and MuleSoft for integrations. The use of OpenShift is to hold MuleSoft APIs. Roles and Responsibilities: · Provide guidance on setting up OpenShift clusters, managing containerized applications, implementing best practices, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing the platform for specific use cases. · Possesses extensive knowledge and experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining OpenShift environments. · Well-versed in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as OpenShift builds upon these technologies. Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience. · At least 3-5 years experience directly working in an OpenShift environment. · Documented experience managing clusters and containerized microservices. · Experience working with OpenShift platform. · Must have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearance acceptable. Preferred Qualifications: · OpenShift certifications. · Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics.
