SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANGER with Security Clearance

Summary You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANGER in the Public Health and Safety of BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY. Duties * You will serve as the subject matter expert in Safety Management with responsibility for implementing policy and objectives, evaluating programs, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of Safety programs provided by BUMED Commands. * You will be responsible for the management of the Safety Management System (SMS) for the BUMED enterprise. * You will evaluate safety program effectiveness and compliance with BUMED goals and various national safety standards and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations. * You will coordinate and plan the annual Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Strategic Planning Meeting with the Regional SOH Managers and other BUMED N44 program managers. * You will coordinate or conduct SOH inspections and surveys, at periods predicated in appropriate regulatory or advisory documents, of areas within the assigned workplace to include workspaces at other agencies employing DON assigned personnel. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. * You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. * International driver's license is preferred Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience delivering technical/managerial refinements of Healthcare System Safety programs, program elements, policies, and precedents- a technical authority/consultant on matters pertaining to enterprise SOH, quality assurance, risk management/other aspects of comprehensive Safety & Occupational Health program.
* Experience utilizing operational/administrative aspects of Navy Safety & Occupational Health programs.
* Experience applying Department of Navy organization and management process and application in the healthcare setting/research environments.
* Experience working with federal, Department of Defense and Navy safety and occupational health laws, policies, regulations, codes, and standards, methodologies, and objectives sufficient to superintend, plan, develop and/or implement geographical area wide programs and provide guidance, direction, and technical assistance to regional commands.
* Experience in high-risk training safety mitigation, protocol, and policy; knowledge of Operational Risk Management (ORM).
