Summary You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. Duties * You will evaluate an environmental protection program using metrics, fact finding, and investigative techniques. * You will administer and coordinate site Environmental Protection Programs. * You will initiate and perform studies to determine the extent that Navy operations may impact the quality of' the environment. * You will recommend and implement corrective actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Following guidelines to assist in completion of day-to-day compliance inspections; 2) Gathering data to collect and review information on environmental activities; 3) Assisting in preparing reports on findings of noncompliance and notices of violations; and 4) Recognizing potential or existing environmental hazards or violations. *NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
