SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Duties * You will maintain a trained and qualified workforce to perform weightlifting and handling rail and trackage inspections relative to trade, skill, requirement, and content or workload. * You will assign work, ensuring timely completion and quality of work, resolves conflicts and overlapping functions between subordinates and other groups. * You will develop performance standards and evaluate the work performance of subordinates. * You will establish, maintain, and effect scheduled inspections, repairs and certification for all weight handling equipment rail and trackage. * You will provide budget recommendations to the Division Head pertaining to the Rail Inspection and Certification Branch to forecast future budget requirements and long-term major capital expenditures. * You will direct all work process inspections and planning assignments of cognizant equipment rail and trackage adhering to time, cost, safety, and quality standards. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience utilizing technical mechanical and electrical engineering concepts and principles. * Experience applying technical procedures and concepts to complete major modifications and alterations, troubleshooting, technical evaluation, testing, and diagnostics of large and complex systems. * Experience using project management/planning techniques and practices to effectively plan work. * Experience implementing the theories, methods and techniques related to technical civil engineering duties and how it relates to construction, application, properties, operation and limitations of unique systems, processes, devices, and materials. * Experience making accurate assessments, conducting analysis on changes related to resources and materials, and recommending approaches to accomplish work. * Experience implementing maintenance/inspection requirements of rails and trackage, including specifications of NAVFAC P-301 and NAVFACINST 11230.1.
