The Senior Computer Network Support Specialist is a contingent position upon award of a contract. The position develop technical documentation and processes as well as identify and manage risks within an IT environment including analysis, monitoring and mitigating any risks. Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop technical documentation and processes for support staff
• Identify and manage IT risks including analysis, monitoring, and mitigating risks
• Assess threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to develop effective solutions to address these issues
• Implement security solutions to protect networks, systems, services and data from various forms of unauthorized access
• Research issues and technologies to discover, interpret, test and implement solutions to technical problems.
• Conduct network performance assessments and audits to avoid service degradations and optimize performance
• Troubleshoot and manage network operations, such as switches, routers, wireless and cable technologies, unified communication systems (UCS) and cloud computing interfaces
• Design, build, test and monitor networks to support test and operational environment requirements
• Develop or maintain cybersecurity systems, such as firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), virtual local area networks (VLANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), etc.
• Develop and disseminate network and cybersecurity status reports, metrics, briefings, or ad hoc reports and presentations as directed by the Government for technical and non-technical audiences Essential Required Experience & Skills: • Knowledge of basic communications, encryption, networking, IT systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, processes, platforms, providers and systems, including access, security and performance options
• Experience with VLANs, VPNs, and ACLs
• 2 to 4 years experience with using application of technical standards, principles and theories
• Experience identifying and monitoring IT risks
• Strong writing skills a must • Must have a TS/SCI Educational Requirements:
• BS in engineering, networking, systems engineering Travel: Minimal travel planned but may be required.
