Description of Duties: The Facilities Mechanical Design Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: • Design, document and coordinate implementation of building mechanical system upgrades, repairs, and remodeling projects. Mechanical systems include, but are not limited to: HVAC, plumbing, and steam systems. • Develop specifications, scopes of work, and detailed mechanical design drawings for all projects that are related to the MDIOC facilities mechanical infrastructure. • Develop projects in compliance with engineering codes and principles, relevant specifications, and customer requirements. • Be responsible for equipment upgrades and rehabilitation projects as well as extensive modifications and system replacement projects. • Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases related to facilities projects. • Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. • Frequently act as the mechanical engineering subject matter expert (SME) on projects. • Support project managers with coordination of project implementation and documentation. This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO. This position is expected to pay $69,500 - $94,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
