Job Description BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a Senior Software Developer supporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation. These individuals will be responsible for coordinating, planning and integration of software upgrades to current applications using one or a combination of the following programming languages: * Python
* PowerShell
* PERL
* Java
* C#, C/C++ * Front-end applications primarily run-on JavaScript. These Senior Software Engineers will also be responsible for continuous improvement in the application that is based on mission and customer requirements. The successful candidates will use a suite of tools to document and track feature request or software bugs that are reported by users; employ robust software development process such as Agile and/or Development and Operations (DevOps) to enable the customer to meet its operational efficiency and accelerate delivery of code. The Senior Software Engineer shall coordinate with the PM or TPOC regarding prioritization and implementation with respect to the perceived importance of each item based on the current mission needs. This individual will have the prerogative to implement the development structure and style of their choosing that is more efficient and effective based. The role requires the Senior Software Engineer to keep track of development schedule and report that to the PM on its status after at the end of each development cycle. They will use configuration management and quality assurance techniques as well as a source code repository to effectively track revision changes. Required Education, Experience, & Skills The Senior Software Developer(s) shall possess a minimum of five (5) years working experience in the following areas: * Development, integration and production deployments.
* Software development in maintaining existing software and development of new systems. * Lifecycle development of software systems using agile methodologies.
* Python programming
* Shell scripting (sh, ksh, bash)
* Writing complex queries using SQL and/or NoSQL systems. * Scalable, high performance data storage and retrieval systems. * Developing real time information collection applications.
* Web application development. * Working with multiple operating systems (Macintosh, Windows and UNIX)
* Cloud computing
* Researching and tracking software flaws * Containerization and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes). * Infrastructure as code technologies (such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation). * Cloud computing solutions such as AWS or Azure, including volume and indexed storage, compute instances, and cloud networking concepts. * Technical writing and presentation. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Information Systems, or any related discipline. * Understanding of complex mathematics and statistics. * Proficient in XML, JSON, AJAX * Working knowledge of networking for programming over HTTP and/or TCP calls. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to understand functional and technical specifications for new products. * Work well under pressure, can meet tight deadlines, and is committed to work when required to complete projects. * Experience in Android or iOS application development Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
