This hybrid remote position requires onsite support in Arlington, VA, as needed.

Must be local to Northern VA, DC, and MD.

Due to Federal Governement Security Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizneship

We're seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team as a guardian of our digital infrastructure. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the health, stability, and security of our Linux-based systems. If you have a passion for open-source technologies, a knack for problem-solving, and a drive for continuous improvement, this is the perfect opportunity to make a real impact

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat 6/7 experience preferred)
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions proactively
  • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions
  • Implement and enforce security policies
  • Write and maintain system documentation
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure system integration
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and trends

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI and suitability clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl)
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)
  • Hands on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and Lambda)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
