SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance

Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the COMOPTEVFOR. Duties * You will provide leadership and technical oversight of supported personnel involved in the review of security clearance forms and background investigations. * You will assist the Command Security Manager in the day-today implementation and administration of the personnel security program. * You will provide authoritative information and assistance to management/organizational officials/employees on personnel security policies and procedures for reviewing adverse personnel security determinations, * You will maintain continuing responsibility for the development, installation, and management of an effective information security program * You will prepare and present briefings and/or training and education classes to develop effective security awareness throughout the organization. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1.) Working in personnel, physical and information security for sensitive information, providing security management, training, and administrative expertise.
2.) Developing and coordinating of security policies and procedures in support of programs;
3.) Evaluating and resolving security issues within non-routine situations, conducting pre-screening interviews for all new civilian hires, and notifying higher authorities of personnel conducting foreign travel and association with foreign contacts; 4.) Conducting indoctrination/debriefings, Preparing Security Access Eligibility Reports (SAERs) and supplemental documentation for review by supervisor and Command leadership and submitting to DONCAF following approval;
5.) Being responsible for physical security for command spaces, including fixed facility checklists, locks, security procedures and random inspection procedures; 6.) Conducting sensitive compartmented information (SCI) training and education in security awareness, administering programs for the continuous security evaluation of personnel, facilities and operations, and managing a security program for control of classified material.
