Communication Network Field Engineer with Security Clearance

Description SAIC is seeking a Communications/Network Field Engineer to join our team based in Huntsville, AL. The Systems Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate is seeking a Communication / Network Field Engineer candidate in support of the THAAD Interoperability Team at Redstone Arsenal. This individual will be responsible for providing technical expertise for tactical communications equipment in support of research, development and integration efforts. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to operate with minimal supervision. The candidate must have a willingness to learn. The candidate must be flexible and work well with other team members. The candidate must be willing to travel CONUS/OCONUS with short notification times to support the Warfighter. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well. Daily duties will be conducted at S3I in Huntsville, AL. Duties and Responsibilities: * Support the Missile Defense Agency with the Deployment, Test, Integration and Upgrading of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile systems of Tactical Operations Station (TOS) and Launch Control System (LCS) * Follow detailed test procedures in a fast-paced field environment. * Travel to various location specified by the Missile Defense Agency in support of THAAD operations and testing. * Create and edit configurations for CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls as it pertains to current and future network infrastructure. * · Deploy and provide support for various Tactical Communications systems. Qualifications Education Requirements: * Bachelors degree and two (2) years' experience; Six (6) years' additional experience can be accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle). Clearance Requirements: * Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required. Required Skills: * Basic understanding of Tactical Communications Systems or Tactical Networking * Travel Requirement: 50% * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Good interpersonal skills. * The ability to support mission requirements during evenings and weekends as scheduled. Desired Skills: * Experience with integrating and deploying LOS and SATCOM related systems such as the PRC family of radios, SMART-T, SNAP, CPN, JNN, Gators and COMSEC * A working knowledge of Link-16 Data protocols * Ability to research, test and understand communication equipment and provided organized thoughts and suggestions in reference to that equipment in a concise and understandable manner. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
