Nuclear Program Analyst/Engineer with Security Clearance

The Nuclear Program Analyst/ Engineer will provide expertise to the Department of Energy/ National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Experimental Sciences and offer support and analyses on nuclear related projects. The selected candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of NNSA R&D experimentation contributing to Science Based Stockpile Stewardship. Additional duties may include:
• Support regular OES highlight activities to inform OES contribution to the greater NNSA
• Participate in creating and maintaining high level office documentation such as Implementation plans, Strategic Execution Framework and Stockpile Stewardship Management Plans
• Provide technical support to any Federal Program Managers responsible for the following areas: o Exploring material behavior in environments of extreme conditions of pressure, temperature, and strain rates o Conducting the research needed to improve stockpile stewardship science predictive capability, revise the common framework models, and uncertainty quantification o Investigation radiation transport and complex hydrodynamics o Aid in the development of dynamic experimental diagnostics and advanced experimental platforms
• Conduct Program Reviews and provide reports to leadership as requested
• Conducting meetings including the setting up of VTC equipment and coordinating with IT as necessary, handling scheduling, set up and troubleshooting these types of meetings and the equipment necessary to support them. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION * Bachelors in a relevant field and five (5) years or more of related experience; Masters in a relevant field and three (3) years. Relevant degrees will be Physics, Nuclear Engineering or other similar fields. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS * US Citizenship required * Five to seven years' experience working with science and nuclear related projects * Must have experience working with NNSA science and nuclear related projects related to defense programs * Must have experience scheduling, managing meeting room equipment, VTC and other communication equipment to support meetings. * Must have extensive experience working in current standard computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint * Must have experience performing work in a virtual / telework environment * Excellent communication, both verbal and written * Must be able to communicate complex scientific reports and develop these reports from data analysis to others who may be not technical both via presentation and in written reports. * Must have an active DOD Top Secret with CNWDI or DOE Q security clearance SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
