Title: Network Architect SME Location: Herndon, VA *Clearance: *Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph needed to apply * Company Overview: Cornerstone Defense, in partnership with our military, intelligence, and civil government customers, supports U.S. operations worldwide through the use of many different types of intelligence, satellite, and cyber technologies. Cornerstone's Intelligence Sector provides solutions to the United States Government for information collection, operations, exploitation and dissemination, and research activities. Our Team specializes in software development, cloud architecture, systems and network engineering, systems integration, agile management, as well as targeting operations and intelligence analysis. Our support to our mission customers includes cyber network operations, exploitation and defense, signals intelligence, human intelligence, and critical missions and networks. Enterprise Network Architect SME We are seeking a SME Architect with a minimum of 16 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cloud, Enterprise, and Service provider Networks, Network Hardening, Cloud Migration, and Ansible Automation. Required Education, Experience, and Skills including the following: * B.S., Computer Engineering, or related field CCNP Certification * Deep knowledge of MPLS, TCIP/IP, VPM and IP telephony * Developing IP/MBLS network architecture * Developing and executing MPLS VPN Service Standards for global network * Linux Systems Engineering experience, including: AWS Deployment, Apache/Ngnix, PostgreSQL, Linux, KVM virtualization, Bash and Pearl Scripting * Red Hat Ansible AutomationEnterprise Architecture frameworks and principles * Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) Support * Cloud experience (AWS, VPC, transit gateway, private link, ELB, ELB, etc.); Azure (connectivity services - Vnet, Virtural WAN, VPN gateway, application protection, application delivery and network monitoring, etc.) Preferred Experience and Skill include the following: * Radio frequency and spectrum engineering * Juniper Knowledge * Optical networking technology and engineering * JNCIE Certification- both written and lab * Cisco IOS- including switching, routing, segment routing, and other technologies * Satellite communications engineering * Cloud design, implementation, and configuration * Other automation tools (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)Identification of INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the network * Providing technical guidance and direction for TCP/IP transport network design and engineering, networking routing protocols, advanced virtual networking technologies * Analyzing the optimization of network system performance * Overseeing the strategic interface of network systems configuration * Assessing network engineering technologies, computing systems hardware and software protocols * Providing high-level technical advice and guidance to manager and technical resources on networking technologies to meet current and future organizational needs * Overseeing the strategic interface of network systems configuration * Assessing network engineering technologies, computing systems hardware and software protocols * Providing high-level technical advice and guidance to managers and technical resources on networking technologies to meet current and future organizational needs * Establishing overall strategic network standards and priorities * Identification of technical trends in information technology, awareness of on-going IT projects, and business unit requirements * Model Based System Engineering (MBBSE) principles * Knowledge of Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) on iterative development projects * Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code * Knowledge of Agile development principles * Knowledge of modern software languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, etc.)Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts * Knowledge of OSI model, routing protocols, and their application to router configurations * Experience in multi-vendor network security environment * Experience with routing design, techniques, and protocols such as BGPIn-depth understanding of peering, QoS, and traffic engineering * Security best practices for firewalls and perimeter security measures including VPN technologies * Continuous integration, test automation and/or SecDevOps on iterative development projects
