Come be a part of a high-speed low-drag organization providing unique and tailored solutions for our National Defense SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified Orbital Range Systems Engineer. Responsibilities The Orbital Range Systems Engineer will help lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers and program managers to coordinate with government and partner orbital warfare and space operations experts across the US Space Force to develop orbital range solutions focused on capabilities-based requirements and architectures. The successful candidate will manage technical baseline processes and documentation, and respond to mission requirements for test and training purposes. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic people who are excited about taking on a variety of challenges as we continue to develop a test and training enterprise solution and support the USSF and Joint warfighting community. Successful candidates will be able to work under only very general supervision. Occasional travel may be required to engage with key stakeholders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Provide innovative internal and external technical leadership, collaboration across all stakeholders, and effective communications to meet customer and program requirements. * Manage the NSTTC Orbital Range technical baseline in accordance with process plans, including developing operational and capabilities-based requirements, integration specifications across multiple domains, and architecture diagrams. * Develop cross-segment roadmaps and schedule views for system and capability deliveries in accordance with policies and government formats. * Plan, execute, and maintain tracking of enterprise, integrated, system, and cybersecurity test and evaluation requirements, including technical assessments, validation, verification, and test accreditation of systems and capabilities. * Maintain cognizance and provide resolution recommendations for technical issues and concerns to manage risks and opportunities related to capabilities and system delivery for the NSTTC Orbital Range. * Support transition to range operations and sustainment of current and future NSTTC Orbital Range capabilities and systems. * Manage day-to-day activities to ensure the engineering processes run smoothly and support technical and administrative issue and resolution tasks. Qualifications Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline * Minimum 14 years of engineering experience (appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement) * Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable) * Willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination * Related experience with a broad range of defense space orbital and ground system types, including development, execution, and sustainment * Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot issues, analyze the cause, quickly determine possible solution(s), document the changes, and communicate the change to the organization * Knowledgeable in all segments of space systems including ground, space, link, and user segments, as well as applying this to distributed test and training capabilities * Demonstrated leadership skills in Aerospace or DoD working across organizations to coordinate and identify integration requirements, as well as managing large-scale Agile or DevSecOps teams/projects * Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) * Ability to manage changing priorities and priorities from multiple stakeholders * Technical and acquisition documentation experience, ability to document and describe requirements, architectures, and infrastructure across each segment of a space system Desired Qualifications: * Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering is preferred * Significant Experience within the Aerospace and/or Defense industry * 16+ years of demonstrated technical engineering and leadership experience * Strong experience in documenting requirements, infrastructure needs, and architecture solutions * Understanding of model-based and/or software engineering tools and practices * Demonstrable experience with DoD or NRO space and ground systems engineering * Understanding of DoD and USSF range operations, standards, and policies * Experience with configuration and data management, hardware and software testing, and the evaluation of classified systems * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting policies and procedures, and a demonstrated consultative approach in communication * Experience translating strategic and operational needs into system and capability requirements; and those requirements into technical performance standards * Management consulting or client facing delivery experience * Ability to multitask and work with varying levels of team members At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain the top talent.
