ENGINEER with Security Clearance

Duties * You will lead projects, programs, and test events in the area of subsea vulnerability, and subsea/seabed warfare, for research, development, testing and characterization of underwater weapons effects. * You will secure sufficient funding for a support team, manage workload and daily tasking, and mentor junior engineers in this area. * You will lead strategic planning studies, Analysis of Alternatives, internal studies, investigations, analyses, special projects, and reviews. * You will develop, communicate and execute strategic plans for critical Department of the Navy initiatives. * You will lead the continued development of computational tools to characterize underwater weapons effects against traditional and non-traditional targets, such as the Submarine Vulnerability Evaluation Model (SUBVEM). * You will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of underwater weapons effects, effectors, and delivery vehicle/mechanism testing. * You will lead in development of protection and lethality systems exploiting advanced technologies, structures, and materials. * You will lead cutting edge research in the area of subsea/seabed warfare vulnerability reduction and lethality. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer overseeing undersea weapons effects research, testing and evaluation for the development of underwater assessment techniques to lead the research of weapon effects for a subsea warfare program. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. The incumbent is required to participate in explosive test events and must understand Navy and NSWC instructions and standard operating procedures dealing with the save use and handling of explosive materials and expendable ordnance.
