The Data Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining scalable tooling and infrastructure for managing data in a system. This includes building automated data pipelines, managing data storage, and creating systems to make data available to users. The Data Engineer also supports the team by performing tasks like data analysis, interpretation, extraction, formatting, labeling, cleaning, transformation, reduction, discretization, annotation, loading and processing. Glad you asked We're excited about candidates who can accomplish the following: Responsibilities and Contributions Organizational and Leadership Role * Takes initiative for their own growth through personal leadership. Functional Role * Designs and implements internal processes for automating data delivery and optimization. * Builds and maintains secure tooling and infrastructure for scalable automated data pipelines and machine learning models that align with business needs. * Collaborates with Data Science Engineers and Business Analysts to improve data models that solve problems and support data-driven decision making. * Supports regular ad-hoc data and analysis needs to better understand customer behaviors. * Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality and volume, ensuring data is accurate and available. * Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues. * Evaluates data and machine learning tools for efficacy. Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies Must-Have Skills * A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience * A minimum of 2 years working directly with Azure infrastructure * BS in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technology-related degree. * Experienced creating database solutions, evaluating requirements and preparing design reports. * Ability to obtain required security clearance for this project: Public Trust * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. * Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning Tools and Software. * Experience in statistics, data processing, or data annotation. * Understanding of quality assurance with respect to data and models. * Proficiency with programming languages including Python, R, SAS, and/or Java. * Experience working with at least one data analysis tool like Hadoop, Apache Spark, or cloud-provider equivalents. * Effective written and oral communication skills to communicate insights extracted from the data. * Ability to understand and respond to customer needs and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team. * Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, and build relationships and influence others. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance. The salary ranges for this position based on location are listed below. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified as a part of our annual salary range review. * AL, FL, GA, TN Residents: $90,015 (min) - $117,019 (mid) - $144,024 (max) * NC Residents: $92,799 (min) - $120,639 (mid) - $148,478 (max) * DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $97,439 (min) - $126,671 (mid) - $155,902 (max) * DC Residents: $109,503 (min) - $142.354 (mid) - $175,204 (max) * CA & NY Residents: $113,215 (min) - $147,179 (mid) - $181,143 (max) Within the range, starting pay for team members is based on the evaluation of the alignment with the position description requirements including job-related skills and experience or training.
