Duties * Receives and processes Inspector General Action Requests (IGARs) from individuals. * Interviews complainants to determine necessary information required to act on the request. * Develops and determines course of action, from HQDA agencies, installations, state and local authorities, to resolve the request. * Produce required reports from the GARS system for case management and management of IG records. * Responds to requests for assistance or information from the higher command IG offices or other agency IG offices. * Leads and reviews inquiries and investigations, analyzes reports and supporting documentation and evidence. * Determines the adequacy of information developed and validity of conclusions and recommendations made by the subordinate IGs to respond to allegations and requests for assistance. * Makes recommendations on disposition of the case and prepares and obtains approval from 311th SC(T) CG. * Assist in the development and disseminate a monthly IG Newsletters that discuss the latest changes to Army policies. * Assist in the development and execution of an Investigating Officer (IO) training program. * Provide incoming company, battalion, and brigade command teams an IG In-brief (e.g., IG Information Brief). * Lead and conducts sensitive investigations, inquiries, and special studies on a broad range of matters affecting the command, to include allegations, complaints, and requests for assistance from both military and civilian personnel. * Summarizes and verifies accuracy of transcribed testimony, prepares required correspondence and reports associated with assigned inquiries / investigations. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Three year trial/probationary period may be required. * Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. * You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. * Incumbent required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15FEB2023. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. * The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. * Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel will be required approximately 5-10% of the time and may require worldwide travel. Must possess a valid passport. * Must successfully graduate from the Inspector General school and maintain certification in accordance with AR 20-1 within 9 months of entrance on duty. * Must be willing to take the Inspector General oath acknowledging the moral and ethical obligations inherent in this position of special public trust. Must successfully complete the IG Refresher Course every five years. * Must practice IG attributes as mandatory requirements for continued employment as an Army IG. Any serious criminal activity, to include drug use, will result in the immediate removal of an employee from IG duty and loss of access to IGARS and IGNET. * See "Additional Information" section for additional requirements. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrating initiative, regulatory standards, extensive experience, and a broad knowledge of inspector general principles and practices to recommend solutions to systemic problems during inspections; communicating effectively, accurately, with efficiency and timeliness; and possessing the ability to teach and train Army members on regulatory guidance, policies, processes, and procedures.
