508 Developer & Tester We are seeking a talented 508 Developer / Tester to join our team in the Washington DC Area. The ideal candidate will be a Front end/UI Web developer with expertise in ensuring web page designs conform to industry and IRS standards, particularly in terms of accessibility (Section 508 compliance) and usability. This role requires experience in a Test-Driven Development Environment and proficiency in web programming languages and tools. Compensation & Benefits: * Estimated Starting Salary Range for 508 Developer & Tester: Pay commensurate with experience. * Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. * Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. 508 Developer & Tester Responsibilities Include: * Develop web pages and necessary frameworks based on web designs using JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, etc. * Ensure web programming and development adhere to federal requirements, including 508 compliance and SCORM conformance * Prepare test plans and test case scenarios associated with accessibility standards * Conduct Section 508 testing via manual reviews, automated test tools, and assistive technologies * Implement accessibility testing methodologies, both manual and using assistive technology tools * Apply UX design principles regarding Section 508 and usability * Create or modify testing protocols to align with business requirements and Reusable Program Level Requirements (RPLRs) * Stay updated on WCAG 2.0 Success Criteria and best practice guidelines * Communicate defects and potential workarounds to developers and other team members not familiar with Section 508 standards * Performs other job-related duties as assigned 508 Developer & Tester Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: * Bachelor's degree in a related field. * An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required * Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, and other relevant web programming languages * Strong understanding of Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards * Experience in Test-Driven Development Environment * Ability to develop test plans and test case scenarios * Familiarity with automated testing tools for accessibility testing * Excellent communication skills to convey accessibility issues and solutions to team members * Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring web designs meet industry and IRS standards * Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal Company Information: Cherokee Nation Solution Link (CNSL) is a part of Cherokee Federal - the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
