Duties * You will ensure the accuracy and validity of monetary entitlements associated with the expenses claimed and authorized on a travel claim. * You will develop specialized queries and manipulate the data sets necessary to produce reoccurring reports that show timelines and accuracy trends. * You will plan work, set priorities, and schedule work as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect on regular, recurring work. * You will assign work to subordinates, develop performance standards and evaluate employee performance, provide oversight, advice, and instruction, and interview candidates for hiring, promotions, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in the maintenance of travel claim processing; 2) Conducting independent studies and investigations of military travel issues as directed; 3) Reviewing management actions and periodic reports to determine that previously identified deficiencies have been corrected; 4) Researching issues and preparing correspondence in response to controversial, sensitive, and significant issues; and 5) Identifying causative situations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
