Duties * You will control the generation or distribution of electric power in power generating plants, power distribution centers, and substations. * You will operate power generation and distribution systems supporting industrial and/or residential operations. * You will operate control panels that allow remote starting of diesel engine powered generators. * You will voltage and amperage and making exacting adjustments to the system to assure adequate power for load demands. * You will read/analyze a variety of interrelated meter indications to detect abnormal conditions (e.g. circuit overloads, improper line voltages, or equipment temperature, etc.). * You will operate bucket trucks, Auger trucks, line trucks and forklifts in an incidental basis, must qualify foe and maintain a government license for all equipment in accordance with Navy P300 licensing regulations. The incumbent is required to move about in the power plant, mechanical rooms, climb ladders and field work sites. WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to high noise area requiring dual hearing protection. Exposure to grease, fuel, vapors and high voltage electricity. Required to climb 0 foot vertical ladders and work from platforms or wind turbine nacelles. Periodically required to work in confined spaces, subject to severe electrical shock, burns, cuts, bruises and falls. Much of work is outdoors in all kinds of weather, exposed to heat, dampness, cold and high winds.
