Summary You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Center for Information Dominance (CID) of CENINFOWARTRA PENSACOLA FL. Duties * You will collect, assemble and disseminate information materials, primarily thru existing means and with extensive use of social media. * You will gather and report public reaction to the information program and provide recommendations to improve aspects of information materials. * You will provide advice and guidance to management officials concerning public relations and strategic communications. * You will coordinate the organizations participation in externally sponsored programs and events and/or public participation in organizational programs and events. * You will organize the availability of personnel and equipment, directing the set-up of exhibits, preparing presentation and publicity materials, and maintaining liaison with local community groups and organizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Developing written materials for public affairs and media relations matters; 2) Responding to media queries on community relations and events; 3) Coordinating community relations events and public affairs functions with appropriate personnel with knowledge of Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act.
