Position Description The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing the tools and processes necessary to support the mission specific IT systems within the Digital Infrastructure Division, Operations and Security Branch (DC31200) of the DITAC Department at NAWCWD. System administration, analysis, and configuration of infrastructure IT systems relating to the services availability of DITAC managed networks. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Network Operations Support Center (NOSC) in providing technical solutions for the DITAC lab community, specifically in support of the DITAC managed networks across NAWCWD. The incumbent will provide IT system software/application support and network analysis in support of the Technical Support Branch. Specific duties will include network analyses, decomposing and deriving, managing, documenting, and developing requirements for IT systems. Incumbent will monitor network services and infrastructure status/health conditions. Incumbent will also be responsible for managing the Windows Active Directory and Domain Environments and for the management of Enterprise Applications. Additionally, incumbent will be responsible for End User Devise (EUD) Desktop Support, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews while managing and administering client system infrastructure for Windows endpoints. The employee operates as a system administrator support technician in a field of Information Technology including the administration of IT assets in coordination with scanning and compliance teams. Incumbent maintains systems and configurations of network equipment/servers/appliances while ensuring systems meet DoD requirements for vulnerability assessments. With guidance and by direction from subject matter experts and leadership these duties include, but are not limited to: analyzing network security log files, monitoring network firewall log files and taking appropriate information security action should an intrusion or threat be detected. Operation and Maintenance of Windows systems, including installation, update/reconfiguration, and troubleshooting of Windows based systems (EUDs and Server infrastructure) and network infrastructure systems (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.). Assist in the planning and administration of enterprise software including deployment and package management (e.g. Jabber, Office, Acrobat, Windows 10, etc.) in addition to windows server operating system patches, security updates, operating systems deployment and monthly patching, and out-of-band patches. The incumbent will provide administration of the Active Directory system for Team Members, including but not limited to: adding and deleting users, creating and managing group policies, managing file shares and security permissions. He/she will troubleshoot and repair EUDs to ensure they interconnect seamlessly with multiple systems including network drives and all business productivity applications, and provide technical support to network infrastructure and server infrastructure. This could include Network switches, wireless access points, and firewalls. Incumbent will manage the active directory structure and maintain server infrastructure. Incumbent will translate business requirements into specific designs and participate in the design, evaluation, and selection of IT solutions for specific projects. Incumbent will ensure the functionality and integrity of applications by developing test scripts, performing unit and system testing, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues. He/she contributes to the completion of research assignments, maintains equipment, drafts technical reports, and responds to other miscellaneous requests. He/she will provide assistance on technical projects and assist in troubleshooting within the team and across Department/Division/Branch team constructs in support of mission success. The incumbent will ensure that all aspects of the IT system process are properly documented and accounted for within the current Configuration Management data base. The incumbent will ensure that the IT system best practices are properly tailored and incorporated into the team processes. He/she will drive client security model and best practices in an enterprise environment, and maintain client hardware standards including client configuration and test new technology to improve our computing environment. In addition to implementing client-side applications and services that will provide new technologies for our employees to improve their work experience, productivity and security.
