Windows System Administrator: Supporting Delivery Staff and Ensuring Service Excellence The role of the Windows System Administrator entails providing critical support to our delivery staff, ensuring that service levels and objectives are consistently achieved. The responsibilities and qualifications for this position are outlined as follows: Responsibilities: • System Administration: Manage day-to-day IT systems operations, including tasks such as system availability monitoring, backup and restore procedures, configuration changes, and maintenance of both physical and virtual systems. • Software Management: Install new software releases, conduct system upgrades, evaluate and apply patches, and troubleshoot software-related issues. Additionally, troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems as necessary. • Data Integrity: Perform system backups and recovery operations, potentially using unconventional tools and methods. Continuously monitor system configurations to safeguard data integrity. • DevOps Expertise: Familiarity with standard practices and procedures for DevOps environments, with the capability to research and engineer innovative solutions. • Technical Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd Tier support, ensuring timely resolution of computing hardware and software issues. Collaborate with clients, hardware and software vendors, application developers, and networking support teams. Offer direct technical assistance in a 24/7 operational environment. • Problem Resolution: Monitor and respond to technical hardware and software problems using a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques across desktops, servers, LAN/WAN, and voice or video networks. • System Optimization: Engage in capacity planning, system administration, system tuning, problem analysis, and hardware/software upgrades to maintain optimal system performance. • Policy and Documentation: Develop administrative policies, documentation, and procedures to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of assets. Create and enforce local administrative policies for database and system integrity. • Client Interaction: Conduct meetings with clients and support groups to establish critical timelines, LAN and client/server requirements, training needs, and tailored system administration guidelines. • Hardware and Software Deployment: Coordinate the delivery and staging of client/server hardware and software, including Ethernet wiring for workstations and file server platforms. Configure and build server hardware and network interfaces to meet technical specifications. Complete necessary documentation for inventory and installation planning, including client profiles and system configurations for software distribution equipment. Candidates must meet the following qualifications: • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is mandatory. However, five (5) years of System Administrator experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
