Candidate MUST possess a TS/SCI clearance with Intel Polygraph Overview: The Sponsor seeks support retrieving and cleaning datasets Data ScientistThe Sponsor seeks support retrieving and cleaning datasets that have been nominated for inclusion in a web application that will provide access to a range of structured datasets that address pressing questions by allowing users to identify patterns and anomalies in the information. The Sponsor needs experienced support accessing, conditioning and managing data that will be ingested into the application. The Data Scientist will work closely with managers, analysts, and developers to transform datasets in line with Sponsor's requirements so they can be seamlessly transitioned into the application's database. The Sponsor's product owner or their designee shall manage the priorities. The Data Scientist will access and obtain datasets for curation from data repositories, such as the Sponsor's Integrated Data Layer, curate the original datasets by normalizing, conditioning, cataloging, and tagging the data, and ensure data quality and integrity in the Sponsor's data holdings. They will also work with database and application developers to transition data to the Sponsor's database and adhere to data governance requirements and regulations. 1.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience cleaning, normalizing, conditioning and tagging of data in all sizes and formats for ingest, discovery, and analytic processing.
2.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience ensuring data attributes are provided in common units or standards enabling data queries to result in standard outputs.
3.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience working with both structured and unstructured data.
4.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with data management, database structures, and ensuring data integrity.
5.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience serving as a technical liaison between software developers, system engineers, analysts, non-technical managers and personnel.
6.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience coordinating with experts to assist with technical aspects of acquiring new data sets.
7.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience analyzing data needs in support of systems development efforts.
8.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with Data Quality and Data Governance concepts and experience.
9.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience supporting cross-domain transfer, allowing for data integration.
10.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with technologies related to the Extract Transform and Load (ETL) process, such as, Apache Nifi or Elastic.
11.(Mandatory) Demonstrated extensive experience using Excel to arrange, manipulate, clean, and structure information.
12.(Desired) Demonstrated experience applying technical coding skills, such as Python, to structure data.
13.(Desired) Demonstrated recent experience with the data holdings and formats for the Sponsor's data libraries, records, and enterprise search and discovery applications.
14.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's search and discovery applications and analytic workflow processes.
15.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's datasets, to include unstructured, structured, and semi-structured datasets.
16.(Desired) Demonstrated experience supporting software development in an Agile environment. MUST be a US Citizen with a U.S. Government clearance - Intel with Polygraph NOTE: Must have an active TS-SCI with poly. No sponsorships or upgrades are available.
