Duties * Serves as senior group leader responsible for supervision of 10-15 professional engineers, and information technology specialists and technicians. * Oversees the execution of technical, administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned. * Interviews candidates and makes selections for vacant positions. * Responsible for leading contract efforts in conjunction with contracting office to award and monitor IT task orders. * Plans, analyzes, and conducts studies to determine most feasible methodology to meet Army requirements. * Applies broad information technology knowledge and extensive experience with information systems to provide technical support advice and guidance. * Develops and negotiates work and system requirements with customers and makes commitments for the organization. * Prepares comprehensive technical documents, strategic plans, and direction for command guidance. * Manage labor and material budgets for planning and execution for large Army IT efforts and projects. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Non-Critical Sensitive, Secret Access level security. * This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. * This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. * A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. * This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time. * Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
