HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC with Security Clearance

Summary You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic in the Public Works Department Washington at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH. Duties * You will analyze, repair and adjust hydraulic systems such as brakes and forklifts and bulldozerblade lifting mechanisms and replaces or adjusts worn and defective parts. * You will use micrometers, calipers, and many other precision type tools to make measurements fitsto very close tolerances. Occasionally, required to design and fabricate special tools,hydraulic lines or wiring harness to complete repair. * You will utilize hydraulic and air gauges, volt meters, ammeters, ohm meters, and other testingdevices to diagnose cause of trouble and determine. * You will install electrical units such as starters, generators, voltage regulators, lights, ampere meters,voltmeters, batteries, and other accessories. * You will examine brushes, armatures, field coils and bearings; and make minor repairs such asreplacing brushes, sanding commutators and undercutting mica. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Class B Commercial Drivers' License with P (passenger), N (tank), and T (trailer) endorsements. * Must be able to successfully complete the following training courses within prescribed timeframe: Certification as a Certified Federal Fleet Specialist (CFFS) or other federal equivalent within 3 years of appointment. * You will be required to work at a job site or location other than a permanently assigned location.
