RIGGING WORKER with Security Clearance

Summary You will serve as a Rigging Worker in the Supply and Administrative Services Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY. Duties * You will use various rigging materials such as pallet jacks, tackle blocks, shackles, dollies, steel cables, chain falls, and wire and fiber ropes to select and install the appropriate type and size of gear. * You will use equipment to lift, move, and position a variety of large and heavy equipment, machinery, and supply items. * You will perform tasks that are part of a Rigging Worker's job requirements as applicable to the disposal of excess surplus property. You use dollies, hand trucks, hand-controlled cranes, chain falls, jacks, hand tools, electric tools, hydraulic lifting devices and various other rigging equipment requiring some physical coordination to operate. You may be exposed to the possibility of injuries from falls, moving objects, sharp edges, industrial smoke, fumes, dust, and the possibility of strains and skin irritants. You may be exposed to fumes and odors, dampness, poor illumination, dust, greasy and dirty conditions. You must work indoors and occasionally outdoors, and at times in areas where electrical shock may be a hazard. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
