SAS Programmer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled SAS Programmer with a solid background in finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing SAS programs to support financial analysis, modeling, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop SAS programs to automate data extraction, transformation, and analysis processes for financial datasets.
2. Design and implement statistical models and algorithms to support financial forecasting, risk assessment, and decision-making.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data and analysis requirements, and translate them into technical specifications.
4. Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reports and analyses.
5. Optimize SAS code for performance and efficiency, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
6. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in SAS programming and financial analysis techniques.
7. Provide technical support and expertise to users of SAS applications, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions.
8. Document SAS programs, processes, and methodologies to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Strong proficiency in SAS programming language, including data step programming, SQL, macros, and SAS procedures for statistical analysis.
3. Solid understanding of financial concepts and methodologies, such as risk management, portfolio optimization, and financial modeling..
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
6. Certification in SAS programming or related field is a plus.
