General Supply Specialist with Security Clearance

Duties * Trace acquisition sources and methods, resolves problems associated with timely deliveries and lead times, and arranges for disposal of surplus and excess property. * Interpret directives from higher headquarters; develops and recommends implementing procedures; and formulates guidelines for dissemination to the organization. * Responsible for ensuring procedures for non-expendable property accountability management are followed from cradle to grave. * Establish local policies and procedures for property accountability on organization and installation property books. * Select appropriate item description pattern to ensure proper identification of nonstandard equipment not otherwise identified in the federal supply system. * Keep the supply logs of nonexpendable requisitions. * Develop and implements procedures for accomplishing reconciliation of Property Book and authorization documents. * Serve as the activity Equipment Manager and conducts spot check inventories to verify and validate hand-receipts and provide on-site assistance to hand receipt holders. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, organization staff or sites for fielding or release of materiel. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Three year trial/probationary period may be required. * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. * This position is designated as Key. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Inventory Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
