Summary You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Engineering Depot Support Team as the Digital Data Center (DDC) and Precision Measurement Center (PMC) Branch Manager at Cherry Point, NC FLTREADCEN EAST. Duties * You will work day-to-day technical management and oversight of engineering tasks and products. * You will manage team resources for depot and fleet support of the DDC and PMC * You will plan work to be accomplished, instructs and advises team on technical matters. * You will prioritize all engineering efforts while also ensuring technically accurate and on-time completion of associated products and services. * You will serve as primary interface with external stakeholders such as Depot, FST and MRO-P leadership. * You will ensure training and development of team members. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional ability to apply engineering knowledge is defined as the ability to (a) apply fundamental and diversified professional engineering concepts, theories, and practices to achieve engineering objectives with versatility, judgment, and perception; (b) adapt and apply methods and techniques of related scientific disciplines; and (c) organize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate scientific data in the solution of engineering problems. Examples of 1) Directing the technical support, design and development of aircraft, components, and equipment in support of USN/USMC/USAF aircraft systems including repair, overhaul and manufacturing processes applied to all weapon systems, programs and products supported at FRC East; 2) Assessing program/project requirements to support the intended mission capability, maintain and improve upon design capabilities of the system/ equipment at the minimum expenditure of resources, preserve the planned operational life of assigned aircraft systems, and to achieve the readiness goals; 3) Communicating and coordinating with other branches to develop processes unique to MRO engineering and work with other leaders to ensure uniformity of products, product quality, and optimization of applied resources; 4) Prioritizing workload and assigning tasks to subordinates according to their individual skillset, providing essential technical expertise and identifying training opportunities as needed to increase organizational accuracy and efficiency. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
