The SCCM Engineer is an integral part of the Engineering team and will provide expert-level engineering and architectural support for remote in-store POS environments and select Store Support Center systems and workflows.

Experience on the engineering/ design and build side of systems, especially with the following technologies:

  • Microsoft: SCCM, WDS, MDT, AutoPilot
  • HCL: BigFix imaging feature

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of 70,000 remote workstations that runs throughout the US.
  • Partner with Business Solutions teams to design, develop, and implement requested business changes across store systems.
  • Partner with Contact Centers to quickly resolve escalated engineering-level issues.
  • Partner with Field Services team to integrate new POS equipment models into the store environments.
  • Identify improvement opportunities with managed systems and workflows.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-moving environment, meeting deadlines.
  • Bachelor s degree, or equivalent level of demonstrated skills and experience.
  • 5+ years engineering/administration experience with Windows endpoints in both Active Directory and workgroup environments.
  • Expert-level Active Directory/Group Policy experience.
  • Expert-level Windows workstation OS knowledge (32/64-bit, registry, event logs, boot options, certificates, UEFI/BIOS).
  • Expert-level proficiency with scripting in PowerShell and similar tools.
  • Experience creating and maintaining endpoint OS images.
  • Experience remotely managing endpoints.
  • Strong networking understanding (TCP/IP, WAN, proxy/firewall, DNS, DHCP, load balancing).
  • Demonstrated experience using self-learning to solve problems and complete tasks.
  • Creative problem-solving and analytical abilities; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Good project management skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with POS/retail environments, or other up-time critical production environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
  • Experience with HCL BigFix.
  • Experience working with VMware servers in vSphere.
  • Experience with F5 load balancers.
  • Experience with macOS.
