Firewall Engineer

Position: Firewall Engineer II

Location: Suffolk, VA (2 Days Onsite)

Fulltime

Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance

Key Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Expertise: The candidate must possess more than two years of progressively relevant professional or technical experience in cybersecurity and/or information security. This experience will be vital in navigating the complex landscape of Navy and DOD network environments.

NexGen Firewall (NGFW) Experience: Over five years of progressively relevant professional or technical experience is required, with a special emphasis on the listed firewall platforms:

Forcepoint Firewalls

Palo Alto firewalls

The engineer will be responsible for

Firewall Administration and security compliance.

Conducting quarterly audits of firewall policies.

Performing routine assessments of system hardening in accordance with DOD security technical implementation guides (STIGs).

Ensuring the maximum information assurance (IA) compliance of DODIN-N systems.

Qualifications and Certifications:

Mandatory Certifications: DoD 8570 Certified

Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance

Desirable Skills:

A keen understanding of DoD and Navy Enterprise networks, including platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. AWS certifications will be considered a plus and may offer the candidate an edge in the selection process.

Note: This position involves 2 days of onsite work in Suffolk, VA, with potential for remote work or travel to other locations as per project requirements.
