Position Description Perform cyber security activities to include cyber security risk assessments, support cybersecurity requirements to include applying patches, updates, and STIGS for user desktops, laptops, and servers. Identify and troubleshoot failed system components to include hardware/software components. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (windows and Linux) and software. Assist ISSO with lab IT configuration. Candidate should have above average knowledge of computer systems (4-6 years). Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems (setup, account privileges, software installation and configuration, security patches and updates, anti-virus, etc.), server administration (group policies, remote administration, virtualization, operating system baselining, etc.), and network administration (switch and router configuration, firewalls, VLAN, etc.) is required. Position also requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Must have excellent writing skills (high volume of email), be well organized, able to prioritize quickly, and have strong communication skills. Must also be able to work well under pressure, and have good customer relations experience. Should be able to work as part of a team, or alone, and be able to troubleshoot problems efficiently and effectively. A current DoDI 8570 cyber security certification is also desired, or will be required within the first six months of employment. Specialized Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years knowledge in at least one, or a combination of the following specialized experience: 1) Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and LINUX (CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise) operating systems; Cisco and HP networking hardware and software products a plus. 2) Systems configuration experience to include building desktop computer systems and servers, adjusting BIOS settings, driver installation and troubleshooting, and Windows/Unix/Linux shell commands. 3) Design network topologies, and install, setup, and sustain network routers/switches for LAN or WAN configurations. Experience with Cisco or HP networking products highly desired. 4) Knowledge of virtual machine setup and management; experience with VMWare highly desirable. 5) Team leadership or project management experience. 6) Possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant IT/Tech discipline (MIS, CIS, etc.), or an advanced technical certification (CISSP, MCP, GSLC).
