The TEKsystems Team supports the United States Navy in their goal of providing reliable and secure information services to their shore-based networks. Our customer has an opening for 1 Junior Network technicians, support the NGEN-SMIT Team, in providing IT Services. Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years’ experience as a Network Technician.
- Position requires a highchool diploma and a Secutiry + CE
- Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required.
- Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling experience.
- Knowledge of network protocols
- You will be part of a Team of Network Technicians and Engineers. Overview of Duties:
- Provide network technical advice and assistance during the planning phase of a deployment or exercise and coordinate swift solutions to networking problems during the execution phase. Provide direct computer and network support to include router, firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Domain Name System (DNS), Active Directory (AD) and Exchange, configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support operational requirements for the operational environment; identify required Hardware (HW) and Software (SW);
- Coordinate return of any unused and reusable equipment to stock; coordinate the transportation of all HW and SW required to support contingency operations and obtain all import permits.
- Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed.
- Investigated, resolved, documented, and reported the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment
• Secret Security Clearance is required (will upgrade to Top Secret)
