The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management. What You'll Do: * Role tasks may include cleaning, parts/materials preparation, mechanical /electrical assembly, polymerics processing, manual soldering, adhesive/bonding, masking, and paint operations.
* While executing manufacturing operations apply an advanced level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair.
* Duties and tasks varied and moderate in complexity.
* Apply an advanced competency in use of hand tools, assembly tooling and general manufacturing equipment.
* Complete certification training and maintain required certifications as required.
* Apply solid computer skills to access and input data via computer interface or automated equipment.
* Utilize reading and comprehension skills to follow documented build instruction and/or suggest revision to existing instruction.
* May inspect or verify work of less experienced technicians.
* Perform rework and paint touch-up operations on flight hardware.
* Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
* Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. Working Conditions: * Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Hourly Rate: $28.13 - $37.98 Required Education, Experience, & Skills * High School diploma or equivalent plus 6 or more years of related experience or a related 2-year technical degree and 4 or more years of related experience.
* Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor's or Master's, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
* A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
* A good mechanical aptitude, with good dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
* Must be comfortable with digital scales for weighing resins and epoxies for bonding and repairing of composites.
* Must be comfortable with standard manufacturing tools including torque wrenches, calipers, scales, grinders, drills, media blasters, fasteners, rivet guns, power tools etc.
* Experience with mixing epoxies, paints, and adhesives for bonding/repair of any necessary components to complete individual parts and or final products while maintaining appropriate weight and dimensional tolerances.
* A keen eye during paint touch-up, for noticing subtle flaws, damages and foreign objects and debris within antennas to ensure high standards of quality compliance.
* Maintaining an understanding of each individual parts purpose and place in the assembly process to ensure easy installation of all components, and final assembly to avoid any fitment or tolerance related issues.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Must be a self-starter, ambitious and conscientious. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Ability to demonstrate manual soldering skills that are compliant per J-STD-001 is preferred but not required.
* Experience with in the Aerospace or Medical device industry is preferred but not required.
* Experience or familiarity with any of the following areas: equipment maintenance, composite layups, mechanical and/or electronic assembly. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $58500 - $79000 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
