Title: SAP Basis Consultant with AWS Migration Experience

Location: New York City, NY

Duration: 6+ Months

Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled SAP Basis Consultant with significant experience in AWS migration to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of SAP Basis administration, along with hands-on experience in planning, executing, and managing SAP migrations to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.
  • This role requires expertise in SAP infrastructure, database management, and cloud technologies to ensure the successful migration and ongoing support of SAP landscapes on AWS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support for SAP Basis administration tasks including system installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform system copies, client copies, system refreshes, and SAP kernel upgrades as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain SAP security policies and user access controls.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing optimization strategies as needed.
  • Lead the planning and execution of SAP migrations to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assess current SAP landscapes and develop migration strategies tailored to specific business requirements.
  • Configure AWS infrastructure components such as VPCs, EC2 instances, RDS databases, and S3 storage to support SAP workloads.
  • Utilize AWS migration tools and methodologies to streamline the migration process while adhering to best practices.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and ensure smooth migration execution.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of SAP architecture, including SAP NetWeaver, ABAP, and Java stacks.
  • Proficient in SAP HANA database administration, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and high availability configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services relevant to SAP workloads, such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS Backup, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), etc.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in SAP Basis administration and AWS cloud technologies.
  • Document migration plans, procedures, and configurations to ensure repeatability and maintainability.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams on SAP Basis administration and AWS migration methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and guidelines for SAP operations on AWS.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a focus on SAP migrations.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations and implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and migrations, preferably holding AWS certifications.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing SAP projects and migrations in enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP certifications in relevant areas such as SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP HANA) or SAP Certified Technology Specialist (SAP NetWeaver).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
