Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer with a strong background in software development and a passion for cybersecurity to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure software solutions using vanilla JavaScript, React, Python Flask, and MySQL. You will work closely with our cybersecurity team to integrate security-focused features into our products and adhere to best practices in cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of git-based workflows including CI/CD and a keen interest in cybersecurity challenges.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain secure, high-quality software solutions using vanilla JavaScript, React, Python Flask, and MySQL.

Implement and adhere to best practices in cybersecurity.

Work closely with the cybersecurity team to integrate security-focused features into our products.

Lead efforts to identify and remediate technical debt with a focus on enhancing security, performance, and testing practices.

Utilize a git-based workflow for version control and collaboration with the development team.

Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in software development.

Must be able to work in-office at our Odenton location.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, including significant work with full stack development. Important technologies include vanilla JavaScript, React, Python Flask, Go, MySQL, and Bash.

Understanding and enthusiasm for cybersecurity principles and practices.

Comfortable on the command line using Bash or similar modern Unix shell (zsh, fish, etc.).

Proficient with git-based version control workflows (we use GitLab).

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Experience with Rust programming is a plus.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps methodologies is a plus.
