TITLE: PERM: AV Technician Lead

LOCATION: MUST BE IN PHOENIX

KEY: Crestron, commercial/corporate video conferencing experience is a must.

The Lead AV Technician will be responsible for the successful execution of AV projects and support.

The Lead AV Technician will lead a team of AV professionals, ensuring that project goals and deadlines are met.

The Lead AV Technician will serve as the main escalation point, offering leadership to the AV team and assisting in the troubleshooting of AV technical issues.

The Lead AV Technician will be expected to have strong experience leading others and assembling, operating, and troubleshooting equipment used on each project. The successful Lead will be an experienced leader, flexible, and detail-oriented, with good communication and strong collaboration skills.

Requirements
  • Manage AV Technician and provide coaching and guidance on executing AV support.
  • Supervise the transporting, setting up, and installation of media equipment and audiovisual support tools, including speakers, monitors, cameras, and equipment racks.
  • Manage the set up and execution of electrical wiring, programming, and basic construction according to layout diagrams and schedules.
  • Lead ongoing projects in support of the AV team s goals.
  • Develop good relationships with the AV team and stakeholders to keep production moving and to aid production or event coordinators.
  • Ensure tests on videos, audio, and signals are executed routinely and serve as the escalation point for any problems that arise.
  • Manage equipment malfunctions and execute flawless events.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, ensuring the overall safety of the AV team for all events.
  • Monitor inventory management on equipment, wiring, and accessories.
  • Manage cleaning, maintenance, or repairs on audiovisual equipment.

Qualifications include but not limited to:

  • Experience leading members of an AV team.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and direction to others.
  • In-depth working knowledge of camera and lighting techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of audiovisual editing equipment and software.
  • Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and flexibility.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to transport and set up heavy equipment.
  • Must be willing to travel 70% in this role.
  • An associate or bachelor s degree in audio visual technology or a minimum of 3 years experience as an advanced AV Technician.
