Summary You will serve as an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN in the INDUSTRIAL EXECUTION DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION TRADES DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Duties * You will maintain, operate, and perform analysis of multiple types of electrical systems to determine extent of repair as required. * You will perform disassemble operations prior to aircraft overhaul such as removal of control panels, computers, power supplies, relay racks, aircraft covers, sensors, radios, electrical connectors, removal of circuit breaker panels, etc. * You will ensure the cockpit is safe for electrical power and then apply electrical power as required. * You will test and adjust various types of relays, solenoids, failure detection transmitters, electromechanical actuators, resolver, switches, and servo valves in complex electrical systems. * You will repair electrical circuits and perform circuit checks for continuity of wires, open or short circuits, resistance valves, capacitance valves, current and voltage readings. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, and includes the following: 1) Making independent decisions regarding troubleshooting techniques, modification and repair procedures to include maintenance of aircraft electrical systems, equipment, and accessories; 2) Determining the extent and nature of repairs necessary to correct electrical faults on board aircrafts 3) Checking out the complete aircraft wiring system and connection to ensure setting calibrations, functional, and operational checks are within specifications; 4) Performing functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems, wiring/cables, and equipment to check continuity with standard and specialized tooling equipment; 5) Providing assistance to other employees in verifying aircraft electrical work and ensuring compliance with specifications and procedures; and 6) Using blueprints, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical directives to assist engineering in developing modifications and changes on electrical systems.
