Systems Engineer I, Messaging & M365
This program is the primary engineering branch in charge of the design and deployment of the IT systems that help the Customer achieve its mission. Our client has been heavily involved with the Customer for over a decade, making us one of the most trusted and valuable partners on the ground. What you will be working on:
As the Senior Systems Engineer, Messaging & M365 Engineer, you will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure, M365, and O365 environments. Additionally, engineers will build, maintain and migrate a variety of physical and virtual systems to on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructures. Engineers will provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites. Embracing the DevOps model, engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the entire IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance. * Designing, upgrading and deploying Microsoft Exchange solutions for new and existing environments utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based hosting technologies * Diagnosing and resolving problems related to Exchange Server to include, mail delivery issues, connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks and other various error messages related to Server and Client based software * Performing routine maintenance tasks to include managing user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists and shared folders on-premises as well as within M365 * Integrating Exchange Server with other systems and applications, such as Office 365, SharePoint and Active Directory * Ensuring external contacts are available for use within the organization utilizing GALsync and various other tools/solutions * Monitoring system performance, analyzing metrics and implementing optimizations to improve the overall performance and efficiency of Exchange solutions * Configuring and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Exchange, such as database availability groups (DAGs), backups, and data replication, to ensure access to emails and quick recovery in case of failures What you will bring to us: * Active TS/SCI Clearance with a CI Polygraph * Current DoD IAT II Level certification
* 3-5 years experience (Associate Engineer)
Would be nice if you bring the following: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience * 3-5 years of directly related experience in engineering
* Deep understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2016 & 2019 structure to include: database structure; mail routing and related protocols * Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and it's interaction with Active Directory * Familiarity with Exchange Online * Understanding of Exchange Hybrid designs and operations * Understanding of directory sync into Azure AD * Architectural understanding of M365 security constructs and data protections such as DLP, RMS/IRM, Azure Information Protection * Experience managing Office 365 using PowerShell * Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation options * Experience with Group Policy Management * Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP * Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019 * Experience and strong understanding of File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Replication and Namespace management * Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages * Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment is desired. * Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow * System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs What you will get: * Joining a team of technology experts and partners in the same mission * A high-growth environment with plenty of opportunities to grow your career as the company grows * Owner and Leadership team that come from technical backgrounds so they understand the day-to-day challenges of the technical consulting world and can offer real-life solutions and guidance * Highly competitive benefits package that shows we want to hire the very best *
