Duties * Provides assistance concerning a variety of security requirements such as physical and operations security inherent in the operation of the Provost Marshal/Protection Directorate. * Adapts and modifies security procedures, measures, and systems to complement changes due to technological advances as well as mission changes and relocation of elements serviced. * Recommends physical security measures to protect arms, ammunition, and other Army assets against misuse, loss, or theft. * Assists division chief and resource planners with drafting, planning, implementation and monitoring of FP/DCI financial resources. * Assists identification and prioritization of USARNORTH related critical infrastructure at the national, strategic, and international levels. * Plans, works, and produces FP/DCI based products which meet organizational priorities and requirements. * Conducts analysis of DoD critical infrastructure/assets and the related civil/commercial dependencies and interdependencies, and assists in development of analytical findings and recommendations to senior decision-makers. * Oversees definition, development, and identification of USARNORTH DCI and CI/KR data requirements, and serves as the USARNORTH representative on related senior level working/steering groups/boards. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Will be required to deploy within the NORTHCOM AOR on short notice (in under 24 hours). * Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends. * Expected to function in adverse climatic conditions and under intense physical and mental stress. * Must be capable, upon completion of training, of unassisted donning of mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) mask, clothing and equipment, or equivalent clothing and protective equipment. * Must be able to wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing such as boots, goggles, gloves, chemical mask and other safety equipment as required. * Must pass a physical examination. * Participation in the DOD/DA Immunization program to include live vaccinations as required by DOD/DA policy. * May be required to wear an electronic pager and maintain a working telephone at all times. * Required to submit to a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Failure to satisfactory complete any aspect of this process is grounds for termination. * This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Physical Security Certification (PSC) within their first two years of employment. Specialize experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Interpreting and applying a number of intelligence and security policies, procedures, regulations, and directives that establish standards and criteria necessary to develop security programs; Knowledge of military strategic and tactical concepts, principles, and processes in order to provide advisory in all dimensions of Force Protection, Defense Critical Infrastructure, and Critical Infrastructure/Key Resources; and conduct comprehensive physical security inspections or evaluations to control and safeguard information, materials, assets, and personnel.
