Overview The candidate will plan, design and implement software solutions to facilitate the integration of discrete software applications and systems into a comprehensive, integrated system of systems. The candidate will implement and manage a DevOps environment which provides continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated test and automated installation of software into a cloud environment, consisting of both traditional virtual machines and containers. The candidate will participate in the overarching Agile development process and will ensure that the DevOps environment supports multiple distributed teams with disparate implementation methodologies. The candidate will develop capabilities to customer specifications with minimal supervision. Responsibilities * Interprets requirements and complex specifications to identify potential technical solutions. * Ensures adherence and conformance to schedule/cost requirements and to specifications through supervision of the verification, validation, testing and debugging of solutions. * Oversees and manages the installation and test of systems. * Coordinates with customer representatives to develop technical requirements from customer input, and then coordinates with subordinates to direct system and subsystem design and development to meet technical requirements.
* This spans development, implementation, testing, documentation, and installation of hardware and software systems and equipment. Required Experience/Qualifications * Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university
* Seven (7) years experience solving complex Department of Defense engineering and technical problems in a senior level role.
* Demonstrated experience with the configuration and deployment of software systems within virtual machine and container-based cloud infrastructure. * Competence with VM, container and infrastructure as code orchestration tools. * Requires competence with software/hardware design and development of large-scale systems, the application of software standards, industry quality assurance, quality control, independent verification and validation techniques, testing standards, DevOps, cybersecurity, virtualization technologies, computer assisted software engineering techniques and design philosophies. * Must have demonstrable ability to lead and manage teams of three to eight personnel with minimal supervision, and to exercise independent judgment in task execution.
* Must be skilled with Linux system administration and have a functional knowledge of Red Hat enterprise services such as OpenShift, Ansible Tower and Single Sign On * Environment is primarily built with Linux, VMware, OpenShift and the rest of the Red Hat suite of enterprise products.
* Experience with private and hybrid cloud design/operation/monitoring/deployment:
* VMware vCenter and ESXi, generally maintained at the most current version.
* Knowledge of or ability to learn VMware Orchestrator to automate deployment and destruction of virtual machine, network, and other virtualized assets in VMware environments.
* Use scripting languages for automation, administration, data collection and reporting. This job requires the ability to write, test, debug, deploy, and sustain scripts.
* Analyzes real world problems and implements solutions according to corporate guidelines and procedures, and industry best practices. * Provides professional-level IT, virtual environment, and network support functions, and assists software developers, integration, and test engineers with DevOps functions
* Must be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and able to work with/manage a range of engineers holding a diverse set of skills at differing levels of experience.
* Be sensitive and flexible to the needs and requirements of the customer.
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Preferred Experience/Qualifications * IAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification. * Ability to configuration manage, version control, and backup various scripts and work products created to execute and maintain the environment.
* Prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
* Interact with vendors/users/customers and developers to understand needs and operational requirements changes that will impact development and testing activities, examine any relevant change implementation, then report the changes to developers and testers welcoming feedback for future improvements.
* Ability to solve technical problems involving a variety of integrated software and hardware platforms.
* Expertise with offensive and/or defensive cyber training. * Experience with Kubernetes or other open-source container orchestration frameworks. Special Requirements/Security Clearance * Active SECRET security clearance, with an ability to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
