System Administrator with Security Clearance

System Administrator We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team in the Washington DC Area. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working as a System Administrator, with expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining software products, both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom software. They should possess strong analytical skills to analyze systems and processes and have experience working with customers to ensure best software installation and configuration practices. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with DevOps concepts and be open to increasing their DevOps competencies further. System Administrator Responsibilities Include: * Support the installation, customization, and configuration of IRS Web Apps software assets throughout all environments * Collaborate with Web Apps FDT product development to ensure operational readiness * Provide expertise and services in installing, configuring, and maintaining products (e.g., Web Apps applications, IRS Common libraries, COTS products, Open-Source products) and the operating system environment within all environments at the IRS * Support operations and configurations of products and operating system environment through all stages in the SDLC * Support deployment and testing in lower environments, update OpenShift and ISTIO configurations, create/maintain mount points, update file and directory permissions, setup jobs to manage logs * Support performance testing activities by monitoring logs and server resources * Create and maintain software configuration in lower environments and in production environments to ensure production readiness * Develop and maintain scripts and other configuration files for all products and the operating system environment across all Web Apps environments * Validate the technical stack consistency across all Web Apps environments and all layers * Provide direction, review, and make recommendations for the development of consistent scripts to configure, manage, and deploy * Provide support, best practices, White Papers, and documentation in the continued operations of the installation and maintenance of all Web Apps software assets in all environments * Engage in troubleshooting for issues and mitigations of all Web Apps software installations in all environments * Provide 1st level Linux support for business applications and middleware such as JBoss and COTS products * Utilize system administration and monitoring tools for all IRS Web Apps environments * Performs other job-related duties as assigned * Additional experience with Kubernetes (RedHat OpenShift, AWS EKS, or other) * Service Mesh Configuration (ISTIO or other) * RedHat Products (JBoss Data Grid, JBoss EAP) * General knowledge of Spring Boot and Cloud configuration * Microservices architecture * Proficiency in Tomcat, Netty, Nginx System Administrator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: * Bachelor's degree in a related field. * An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required * 3+ years of full-time professional experience working as a System Administrator * Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining software products, both COTS and custom software * Detailed analysis and configuration of operating system settings, especially as they affect installed software products * Familiarity with DevOps concepts and willingness to increase DevOps competencies * Experience working with customers to ensure requirements utilize best software installation and configuration practices * RedHat Linux 7+ * Operating system configuration best practices (including firewalls, network I/O, file management, etc.) * Virtual Machines * Familiarity with Kubernetes (OpenShift, AWS EKS, or other) * Familiarity with Service Mesh (ISTIO or other) * Production monitoring tools (AppDynamics or other) * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience with system administration and software installation and configuration * Proficiency in Linux operating systems and related tools * Knowledge of DevOps concepts * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support shift work in a 24x7 IT environment * Preferred Experience: * Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal Company Information: Cherokee Nation Soution Link (CNSL) is a part of Cherokee Federal - the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
