We have a Fulltime Sr Systems Operations Engineer opening with Good Benefits and PTO Job Summary: This position will be the senior technical resource for the daily operations and maintenance of a CSfC solution for a Federal Client in Quantico, VA. This role will require a strong operational background supporting server infrastructure enterprise services. This will be a mixed server environment support both Linux & Window’s based servers. This position will require strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. This role will also be expected to assist in network/network security infrastructure troubleshooting & operations as needed. Technologies deployed within the solution include leading edge platforms such as VMware vSphere, Window/Linux Servers, PKI Infrastructure, Cisco/Juniper Firewalls, Aruba vMC, and other technologies. This role will be customer facing and embedded within the Client organization so a professional approach to troubleshooting and resolution of end-user tickets is paramount. Duties/Responsibilities:
• Administration of network services, servers, hypervisors, appliances and supporting server resources to ensure availability of services to authorized users
• Plan and perform systems level, updates, and disaster recovery operations
• Plan, coordinate, and implement systems security measures to protect data, software, and hardware • Perform installation and configuration of network and server systems hardware and software.
• Perform testing and documentation to report systems status and support operations
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
• Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future
• Collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team of Software, Test, and Network Engineers and Operations staff
• Interface and coordinate with customer’s leadership and operations staff for system health and performance reporting, troubleshooting end user issues, scheduled outages and other issues as required.
• Other duties as required. Qualifications/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT related discipline, or equivalent related technical experience is required, with 7-10yrs of experience in a Systems Engineering or Systems Administration role
• An active DoD TOP SECRET Security Clearance with SCI eligibility. Current CI poly is preferable. (TS/SCI with CI Poly)
• Current Active Professional Certifications (Microsoft, Linux, RHEL, AWS, Azure) is a plus • Current Active IAT Level 2 Qualifying Cyber Security Certification (Sec+, CySA+, CISSP, etc.) is required
• Experience with the practical application of Public Key Infrastructure technologies in secure communications environments, including but not limited to Certificate Authorities, X.509 certificates and Certificate Revocation Files. • Excellent communications, (both written and verbal required) and organizational skills • Ability to multi-task in a complex and fast-moving environment
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required
• Ability to work with, help, lead, and mentor junior staff members
• Linux knowledge: DNS (BIND), NTP, Kickstart, RHEL 7 & 8; Windows Knowledge: AD, SCCM/WSUS, CA/CRLDP; VMware vSphere versions 7 & 8 • Knowledge of Samsung EMM/KLM, ACAS (Nessus), Acronis, HBSS, & Splunk are a plus
• Knowledge of Automation of provisioning and troubleshooting of server devices is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
