Duties * You will coordinate the interior design with the engineering disciplines for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects to ensure overall compatibility and efficiency of the site and building design. * You will serve as Design Manager for A/E projects and provides leadership and technical management to other design team members in the area of SID and CID. * You will review and approves shop drawings, samples of materials and components, catalog information, certificates of compliance, Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs); and provides technical responses to Requests for Information (RFIs). * You will ensure that requests for deviations or changes to any terms and conditions of the contract are coordinated and approved, as appropriate. * You will Provide guidance on specification of furniture, fixtures and Equipment (FFE) and unique NAVFAC,GSA, and NAVSUP procurement criteria and processes. * You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, building interior materials and finishes. Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. * You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing subject matter expertise to design team members in the area of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) design; 2) Identifying areas of risk associated with design and construction and develops mitigation strategies or alternatives; 3) Preparing scopes of work and Government fee estimates for Architect/Engineering services pertaining to interior design; 4) Providing technical input for initial outfitting requirements with procurement agents, project managers, and end users; and 5) Providing coaching, mentoring, and training to lower graded Interior Designers.
