Our client is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join our team in supporting a crucial development and sustainment program for a U.S. Government customer. This program involves the design, construction, delivery, and operation of a network operations environment, with a focus on introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. As a Network Administrator, you will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of a new DevOps infrastructure and advanced cybersecurity capabilities. This is a 3rd shift position, and some domestic travel may be required. Responsibilities:
● Collaborate as a vital contributor within Agile Scrum teams to implement advanced cybersecurity capabilities. This includes selecting appropriate hardware and software and designing infrastructure services necessary to enable these cybersecurity measures.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest hardware and software applications relevant to the role.
● Work closely with engineering teams to develop high-quality technical documentation, such as user guides, test plans, and contract deliverables, while also supporting product line training.
● Perform tasks like backup and restoration of network device configurations, break fix actions/operations and maintenance, upgrading network equipment, and implementing firewall policies through port open requests.
● Maintain the networking architecture of CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency).
● Conduct installation work, including cable and equipment setup.
● Monitor the network status and promptly respond to issues and ticket requests that arise. Clearance Requirement:
● Must possess a current Top Secret Clearance with SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) eligibility.
● DHS (Department of Homeland Security) suitability clearance must be obtained before starting employment. Required Skills:
● A minimum of 6 years of professional networking experience.
● Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, encryption, firewalls, and SNMP-based network management.
● In-depth knowledge and advanced troubleshooting experience in Layer 2 functionality and protocols within a Cisco/Juniper environment.
● Experience troubleshooting and implementing Layer 3 routing protocols across a multi-site environment in a Cisco/Juniper setting.
● Strong understanding and ability to configure and troubleshoot IPSEC and firewall architecture.
● Sound knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols. Desired Skills:
● Preferred certifications in infrastructure-related areas such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos), Juniper Networks Certified Specialist Security (JNCIS-SEC), Juniper Networks Certified Professional Security (JNCIP-SEC).
● Experience specifically with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
● Proficiency in using network monitoring and automation tools for troubleshooting and task simplification.
● Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack techniques and associated mitigation measures.
● Experience troubleshooting and implementing VPN technologies.
● Experience implementing firewall-based policies using Juniper firewalls. Education:
● Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
● A Master's degree in a related discipline can substitute for 4 years of experience.
● Professional experience can be substituted for a degree.
