HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance

Duties As a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST, GS-0671-9, you will: * Review, evaluate, and interpret regulatory guidance, policies and procedures * Responsible for oversight, administration, and implement of policies pertaining to state medical affairs * Provide guidance to all users through development of policies, procedures and standard operation procedures (SOP) * Manage the funds associated with the health services account and provides an accounting for expenditures as required. * Respond to inquires and various correspondence on health services issues and maintains an action file on all responses. * Collect, analyze and provide statistical reports * Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS : Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least 12 months experience and knowledge in the following: * Basic principles and practices related to the management of health care delivery systems * General clerical procedures; medical terminology; regulations, and directives; medical ethics; health records administration; principles of coding; and anatomy or physiology programs * Health facilities, health plan management, medical resources, health care information management and information technology, medical logistics, or medical readiness (including aeromedical evacuation) * Analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems * Developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs * Administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical unit or medical activity.
