Location: Havre De Grace / Aberdeen Proving Ground Position Summary: Emerald Technical Solutions is seeking a visionary Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to support all technical contracts as well as drive our cloud architecture initiatives. As the CTO, you will serve as the technical authority, providing strategic direction and hands-on engineering expertise across the board. You will lead the planning and execution of new technical initiatives as well as our cloud services while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices. The CTO collaborates directly with our CEO and COO to enable Emerald's technical vision. CTO Responsibilities: • Develop, prioritize, and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with Emerald’s long-term vision and business objectives.
• Focus on customer-centric priorities and deliverables through Emerald’s continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) framework and cloud implementation.
• Manage a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, cloud architects, and technical support staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions and alignment with client needs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to make strategic recommendations for investment and implementation.
• Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and data security.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, security vulnerabilities, and risk factors to proactively address issues and optimize performance.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to cultivate a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence within the technology team.
• Represent the company in technical discussions, conferences, and industry events to promote our expertise and thought leadership.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, physics, or mathematics. • A minimum of fifteen (15) years combined computer/network architecture experience, with five years focusing on cloud architecture.
• A minimum of 10 years of technical and/or management experience in US Army, DOD, or IC programs, demonstrating expert software O & M of intelligence systems.
• Three years of experience with commercial cloud services providers such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in cloud-based disaster recovery (DR) and multi-region/multi-availability zone (AZ) high availability (HA).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology strategies that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
• Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a focus on delivering results. • Must be a US Citizen with TS Clearance and SCI eligibility.
• IAT Level III Certification required. Travel Required
